Botton Village is a unique social experiment – a remote village high on the north Yorkshire Moors where 120 adults with special needs live and work alongside 200 co-workers and their families. This festival documentary was filmed over the course of a cold winter at Botton and charts the friendships, rivalries and dramas of a small group of villagers. It’s a raw and unmediated film which allows special needs adults to speak for themselves and was shown to great acclaim at the 2005 Sheffield Documentary Festival and the 2005 Royal Anthropological Institute festival of ethnographic film.
